Brewing Intermediate Course
Registrations Closed
The Brewing Intermediate Course builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in the Foundation course. It is designed for those with brewing experience who wish to further enhance their ability to improve coffee quality. This course covers a broad range of topics, including a detailed exploration of the brewing process with respect to device usage, extraction sequence, and proper wetting techniques. It also examines the essential brewing components and their impact on the final cup. Learners will explore scientific methods for measuring coffee strength during extraction and learn how to chart the process. Additionally, the course involves analyzing brewed coffee and espresso, providing strategies for making necessary adjustments to achieve a perfectly extracted and balanced cup. The course also highlights the importance of cleaning and maintaining equipment. A written exam tests knowledge from the Intermediate course, while a practical exam assesses the learner’s ability to identify strength and extraction differences in brewed coffee, prepare coffee using different devices, and diagnose and correct brewing issues, such as improving the recipe for a poorly brewed coffee from an automatic filter brewer, in line with Alam Almaqahi Academy’s standards.
